Programs

A2Z Childcare and Kindergarten provides a quality education and care program for children based on best practice. We promote each child’s social, emotional, physical, language and intellectual development. We encourage exploration, experimentation and investigation and facilitate this through individual, small or large group experiences.

Physical Activity and Sustainability

Parents are children’s first educators. Our service is an extension of the home environment. In order to maximise the benefits of our program, we work with families to share the learning journey with children.

Our service provides 3 separates carefully planned outdoor play areas, one for each age group. We promote learning by balancing our growing knowledge of each child, ongoing interactions with children, and planning. We encourage, extend and value children’s spontaneous learning. Children are the focus of the curriculum. They are individuals with similarities and differences from their friends and have interesting ideas to share with us and their friends. Curriculum opportunities are provided for all children to use and develop their particular interests and abilities.

We facilitate learning by extending, applying and introducing new experiences that stimulate each individual’s interest and learning. We allow interests to extend over time so that each child may achieve their desired outcomes. Learning needs to be ongoing and sustained to enable adequate depth and breadth of investigations.

The Kindergarten Program

The Kindergarten Program at A2Z Childcare and Kindergarten follows the Kindergarten Guidelines, which align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Both are part of The National Quality Framework under which all approved early learning programs operate. Our Kindergarten Program is taught every day by a degree qualified and highly experienced Early Childhood Teacher (ECT).

The Kindergarten Program aims to specifically enrich children’s learning in the year preceding Prep. The joy of childhood is fundamental, and learning is promoted through play in both emergent and planned learning experiences and interactions.

Children attend the Kindergarten Program for a minimum of two days per week up to five days a week.

Families requiring more information about the kindergarten program may ask our Kindergarten Teacher or Director and they will be happy to assist.

Nursery (6 – 12 months)

A2Z offers quality infant childcare services, and we believe in building attachments with our infants to allow our educators to provide the best care and learning opportunities for our infants. Our educators will continuously work with families to understand the constantly changing needs of their infants. Communication between families and our educators in the nursery room is paramount to ensure our infants are provided with the best quality of care.

Toddler (1 – 3 years)

Children in this age group are very curious and are moving around their spaces more frequently while also becoming more aware of their surroundings. By providing toddlers with engaging and stimulating activities, we promote their sense of independence as well as expressing themselves through creative art experiences, physical activities, music and movement. Our educators will encourage self-help skills while supporting our toddlers’ desire to explore new objects and people around them.

Pre-Kinder Kinder (3 -4 4 – 5 years)

We run a government funded pre-Kinder (3 year old) and Kindergarten (4 year old) with qualified teachers in both programs. By enrolling your child in our pre-kinder and Kindergarten program, it allows the best continuation of learning for your child. Both of our qualified teachers can work together to align your child’s learning goals which in turn ensures the best start for your child’s learning journey. We believe that by striking a balance between academic instruction and play-based learning, it will help ensure your child has a successful transition to school.
